Bloating and Other Random Thoughts

I usually don't write about random things, but I'm feeling all over the place today. Might as well put it down on paper.

Well, we're about half way through the winter and the tell tale ice chunks are surface floating all over the lake.

Man, it is COLD. Not -67 degrees Alaska cold, but frigid just the same.

I'm so cold I don't even want to get out of my warm jammies from the night before, although a hot shower reminds me that its good to get dressed. I count my blessings everyday that I don't have to work outside the house.

Of course, opening and closing the front door ten thousand plus times a day to let the dogs in and out doesn't help. They just about talk my ear off now, why can't they learn to use the lavatory?

The upside to the Arctic breezes is that its conducive to putting the final touches to the novels. I've begun to feel like they are my overdue children, supposed to have been birthed way before now.

I'm definitely feeling bloated.

The Ballerinas are back in full swing, and for that I'm grateful. Maybe it will help. Its always encouraging to see other women fighting to get rid of that elephant in the room. Problem is, we each have our own.

I guess I should be grateful. I can walk and get around on my own. I can still see and hear and remember about 85% of what my husband says.

Its going to be a good season.

Preparations are in full swing for the Sixth Annual Red Neck Luau, a full blown community event held at our house every summer. We refer to it as Woodstock for the AARP crowd.

We have a full pig roasted on a spicket in our yard, and family & friends from all over the country come to pitch a tent or a fit, whatever comes first.

You know how it is with family.

Its a lot of fun, and we look forward to it every year.

Hopefully, the Ballerinas can make it.

I think I need an adventure.
