FROZEN LILY PADS

The Lake is starting to get back to normal. The steppe of ice formed between the great abyss of the great lake and the shoreline is beginning to break up, making the ice chunks floating slowly by look like petrified lily pads.

The line where the horizon meets the water is teeming with activity. Ducks and geese are popping their heads in and out of the milky water, retrieving a delicacy of frozen fish with a side of algae and seaweed.

Spring is around the corner. It is a wondrous reminder of the turning of seasons and the chance to move on to another day, another adventure.

I can’t help but have the feeling there is something new coming our way.

Be optimistic. Be glad. Be open.

Be ready.

The best is yet to come.
